Resources
Resources for Physical Education are extensive. In addition to a large sports hall and gymnasium where most indoor activities are taught, we have a school hall which we can use if necessary. Outside we have some of the most extensive grounds in the area with five football pitches, one hockey pitch, six grass tennis courts, three cricket squares, with 3 all-weather surfaces that have 5-a-side netball and tennis courts marked out.Teaching Methods
Pupils are taught in mixed ability, single sex groups. All pupils follow the same programme with the exception of outdoor games where, in the winter, girls do hockey and netball and boys do football and rugby, and in the summer the boys do cricket while the girls do rounders. Gymnastics is well established and dance is being introduced to the curricular. All work is practical. Skills lessons are taught and these lead to work with a partner or a group and then to games.
