KS5 Art
Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences, exploring 2D media,
processes and techniques. Students’ work will focus on Fine Art projects,
drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, film, computer graphics and illustration.
Students will use a wide range of media.
The Art rooms are well equipped and students have access to a wide range of resources. Teaching is usually on a one-to-one basis, with students working on individual projects. Students will have the opportunity to attend life-drawing classes, make numerous gallery visits and take part in a visit to Amsterdam.
AS and A2
We follow the OCR specification.Grades A – D at GCSE are the normal entry requirement, though in certain circumstances, and by negotiation, GCSE Art is not necessarily required,
AS is taken at the end of Year 12, A2 at the end of Year 13.
AS – Unit 1: Research Projects (Fine Art)

AS – Unit 2: Personal Investigation
3000 word visual analysis of any Fine Art work, movement or artist. Must be from first-hand study.Assessment

AS – Unit 3: Controlled Test
Range of questions set by OCR. Four weeks are allowed for preliminary test. A 5-hour controlled test to produce developmental work. This may be carried forward into Unit 4 as a project.Assessment

A2 – Unit 4: Specialist Project Fine Art
