Uniform

The purposes behind our uniform policy are:

  • to promote a positive school image;
  • to encourage self-esteem in pupils by reducing competitive dressing;
  • to prepare pupils for the expectations of employers with regard to standards of dress.

Baysgarth enjoys a close working relationship with The Knitting Box, King Street, Barton. All items of uniform, with the exception of shoes, can be purchased from there. The proprietor mounts a display of uniform at the New Intake Evening in July and takes orders for garments.

Jewellery – No more than the following may be worn

One pair of studs or small rings, one in each ear
One ring on each hand
One necklace worn inside the clothes
One bracelet
One watch
No body or facial piercing is permitted

Summer Headwear

Baseball caps are not permitted to be worn in school without the permission of the Headteacher, e.g. trips out of school in the summer. The school’s Governors agreed that baseball caps should not be part of the school’s uniform, but appropriate headwear in keeping with advice from the NHS is permissible, e.g. a hat with a wide rim all the way round protecting the nose, ears and the back of the neck.

PE Kit

The following PE Kit is compulsory for students starting at Baysgarth School from September 2011:

  • Black Baysgarth t-shirt
  • Plain white t-shirt
  • Black shorts
  • Yellow Baysgarth football socks
  • Trainers (any colour) & football boots*
  • Shin pads*

The following kit is optional, but also available:

  • Baysgarth fleece (black for boys, blue for girls)
  • Baysgarth rain jacket
  • Black tracksuit bottoms (not joggers)

All kit is available to order through the school, either by parents at the main office or students at Student Support. Prices can be found on the list below. please note that you must add 20% VAT for senior sizes.

Students Starting Before September 2011

Students starting Baysgarth before September 2011 (Years 8-11) need the following kit:

  • Plain white t-Shirt or black Baysgarth t-shirt
  • Black shorts
  • Black tracksuit bottoms
  • Trainers and football boots
  • Shin Pads
  • Trainers

All kit that is now available for Year 7's is also available for Years 8-11. Please feel free to purchase at the main office or student support.

A t-shirt that can be bought only by students who have represented the school will soon be available.
