Resources

Resources for Physical Education are extensive. The school has a newly refurbished sports hall and changing rooms. A 60 x 40 metre Multi Use Games Area has just been opened and is floodlit for use after school in winter. In addition to the sports hall the school benefits from a gymnasium where most fitness, gymnastic and dance activities are taught, we have a school hall which we can use if necessary. Outside we have some of the most extensive grounds in the area with five football pitches, six grass tennis courts, two cricket squares, with 3 all-weather surfaces that have 5-a-side, netball and tennis courts marked out.

Teaching Methods

Pupils are mainly taught in mixed ability, single sex groups, with learning centred on encouraging pupils to be independent learners, taking responsibility for coaching and organising activities. Teachers use a range of methods to get to the best out of their students, and teachers individualise their teaching dependant on the group and ability of the students.
