Great care has been taken to ensure Baysgarth School’s website is accessible to all users. This page describes how.
With very few minor exceptions, pages of this site should be compliant with W3C XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.1 specifications. This means the code used to display these pages has been written to a very high standard to ensure compatibility with all modern web browsers and to aid accessibility.
To aid accessibility this site has been designed to conform to a minimum of the AA success criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 specification.
There are two alternative style sheets to choose from. These, along with the default, can be accessed from your web browser’s ‘view’ menu, if supported. Alternatively, pressing the F2 key will cycle through the styles available. The alternate style sheets are:
If changed using the F2 shortcut key, the style sheet selected should be retained when browsing other pages of this website, as long as your browser accepts cookies.
To allow users to navigate some pages more easily, shortcut keys have been added to perform certain functions:
F2 | Cycle through all available style sheets |
F8 | Enable/Disable all other shortcut keys |
Left Arrow | Go to previous page/image (photo album pages only) |
Right Arrow | Go to next page/image (photo album pages only) |
Esc | Return to thumbnail/albums page (photo album pages only) |
For web browser compatibility reasons and because of their unpopularity, access keys have not been implemented. If you feel this is an error and access keys should be added, please get in touch using the email address below.
We welcome any sort of feedback regarding any aspect of the website. If you would like to get in touch please do so by emailing website@baysgarthschool.co.uk.
