6th Oct 2011 - Enrichment Days

This year’s first Enrichment Day will be Friday 21st October, and will involve students in all year groups.

27th Sep 2011 - World Challenge 2013 to Cambodia and Thailand

World challenge will be going to Thailand and Cambodia in summer of 2013, students are signing up this week and will be fund raising for the next two years. The group will be participating in trekking and a community project, possibly, rebuilding a school in a community in Cambodia, one of the most impoverished countries in the world. The group have to raise just over £3000 pounds each for the trip, where they will use some of the money to develop the community, along with learning about responsible travel, leadership, independence, teamwork and empathy.

27th Sep 2011 - Author Visit - 3rd November 2011

Reads United. This is collaboration between two authors, Tom Palmer and Helena Pielichaty, who have both written a series of fiction stories about football.

5th Sep 2011 - New PE Kit for September

We have set up a partnership with a company called Sportswear International to sell PE kit through the school. The company offers excellent quality kit at cheaper prices than the high street.

18th Jul 2011 - Costa Rica World Challenge

How time has flown since we all signed up to the Costa Rica and Nicaragua World Challenge expedition in September 2009.We have all had mountains to climb (some metaphorical and some literal!) to fundraise £3095 we each needed. Now we find ourselves counting down the days until we reach our destination.

6th Jul 2011 - Volleyball News

A sport that is becoming more popular as the year progresses and not just at Baysgarth, other schools throughout the country are entering more and more tournaments and competition is getting fierce!

30th Jun 2011 - Zumba!

Staff and students have enjoyed the Zumba experience together this half term. Sharon ‘Zumba’ Thomas runs an evening class at Baysgarth School on a Thursday 7-8pm and agreed to teach students the basics on Wednesday lunchtime. Everyone has enjoyed the lessons!

25th Jun 2011 - Community Cohesion and Parental Engagement

Calling all parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles! If you have a skill that you feel would help the children of our school then why not volunteer as a parent helper? This may include crafting, textiles, jewellery making or simply reading with Year 7 pupils in the LRC. If you would like more information please contact sharon.gardner@baysgathschool.co.uk

24th Jun 2011 - Baysgarth School Prom Class of 2011

Exams over and decisions to be made about the future! But before all that, let your hair down (or have it pinned up) and enjoy the prom! Another successful year with a great turn out, who were all well turned out! From tractors to a VW campervan, students arrived in style to a welcoming reception of friends and relatives.

31st May 2011 - School Trips

At Baysgarth School we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular day trips and residential visits to suit most tastes. This year these have ranged from Skiing in Austria to sightseeing in New York and karting in Wales!

27th May 2011 - University Visits

Year 9 & 10 students recently had an opportunity to visit some of the country's top universities.

8th Feb 2011 - Blockers Girls shake up the last 16

The Barton Blockers U18 girls travelled to London in the last 16 of the U18 national Volleyball championships having drawn last years champions Ascombe Dorking and one of the biggest Volleyball clubs in the country London Richmond.
